Beeswax is a natural humectant produced by honey bees. It consists of at least 284 compounds. A long chain of alkanes, acids, esters, polyesters and hydroxy esters.

Propolis - Is a dark sticky resin made from over 50 substances, which include tree resins, saps, aromatics, beeswax, & minerals. Depending on the source, propolis has been shown to have flavonoids which have antibiotic, antimicrobial, antiviral & antifungal properties. 

Finished propolis contains roughly 50% balsams, 30% waxes, 10% essential oils and 5% pollen. Using plenty of propolis, the bees can build a protective waterproof envelope that helps shield the colony from dis­ease, sharp edges, heat and damaging mois­ture.
