Hand-blended in small batches in our Ayurvedic Apothecary, Roots and Ritual Vata Reducing tea is a grounding combination of warming and unctuous herbs and spices. Vata dosha is governed by air and ether. When your Vata is out of balance you may be feeling forgetful, scattered, fearful, or anxious. You may also have dry hair, brittle nails and dry skin. When Vata is in balance, you’re more relaxed, enthusiastic, flexible, focused and have free-flowing creativity.

Steep 1-2 teaspoons in 1 cup of boiling water for 7-10 minutes. Drink 3-6 cups per day. Do not exceed 6 cups in a 24-hour period.

Add raw, local honey or your favorite natural sweetener as desired.

BENEFITS OF OUR ALL-NATURAL INGREDIENTS:

 Angelica Root - Is a known remedy for colds, coughs, pleurisy, rheumatism and diseases in the urinary organs. Angelica stimulates digestion, promotes menstruation cycles, and strengthens your heart, liver, lungs and spleen. The safety of angelica for pregnant women and nursing mothers has not been established and its use is not recommended. Good for all doshas, except Pitta in excess. 

 Cardamom - Also known as the “Queen of Spices”, Cardamom is a warming and detoxifying spice that is also antispasmodic and an aphrodisiac. It helps stimulate the digestive system, support the respiratory system and calm the mind.

 Cinnamon - Cinnamon is an aromatic and warming herb that increases Ojas. According to Ayurveda Ojas is responsible for immunity, strength and vitality. It also has antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Through the centuries it has been used for digestive health, as a reproductive tonic, as an expectorant & to regulate blood sugar levels. It is Vata and Kapha pacifying and balancing.

 Cloves - A warming herb that enhances circulation, activates our digestive fire or Agni, soothes stomach disorders and helps tooth health and freshen breath. Pacifies Vata and Kapha.

 Coconut - Coconut pulp cools the body, provides nourishment, cleanses the intestines, boosts energy and strength. It can also act as an aphrodisiac. Pacifies Vata and Pitta.

 Fennel  - Fennel excellent for digestion. It enhances the digestive fire or Agni. It has also been used to treat menstrual cramps, gastritis, acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion. It tonifies the brain and central nervous system.

 Fo-Ti Root - In traditional recipes Fo-Ti nourishes the blood, kidneys and liver. This adaptogenic herb is known for being a longevity tonic and for slowing the aging process. Also used for sexual vigor, detox, fatigue, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. * Not for use during pregnancy.

 Ginger Root  – Ginger is known as “The Universal Medicine” for millennium. It is very good for stoking your Agni or digestive fire. It also acts as a fantastic expectorant and soothes inflammation in joints while destroying Ama(toxins) in the body. 

 Licorice Root  - Has anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antispasmodic qualities. It has been used to soothe digestive upsets and to soothe mucous membranes (a demulcent) and therefore is wonderful for soothing your sore throat.

 Marshmallow Root - Has been used for centuries treat coughs & colds. Today it is also known it as being antimicrobial. It also repairs gut lining, lowers digestive issues, softens skin, treats eczema, lowers fluid retention and it’s a beautiful demulcent and anti-inflammatory. Balances Vata and Pitta.

 Orange Peel - Orange Peel is known to sooth respiratory complications like flu, cold, and bronchitis. It eases stomach issues, soothes sore throats, helps in weight loss, improves oral health and is used as a bitter tonic. It also has high levels of histamine reducing compounds, and is packed with antioxidants. Orange peel can help tone the skin, resists cancerous growth, slows down the aging process and cleanses pores naturally. Pacifies Vata and Kapha.

 Red Chili Flakes - Contain carotenoids act as antioxidants that protect tissues and cells from free radicals. They also boost your immune system, promote a healthy heart, lower blood sugar and may help with weight loss.

 Tulsi Leaf - Ayurveda refers to Tulsi as Holy Basil as “The Queen Of Herbs”. It is classified as an adaptogen that has been used for thousands of years to boost and maintain wellness. Tulsi also has a positive effect on stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression and more. It is also an antioxidant, analgesic, aromatic digestive, antimicrobial, and cardiovascular tonic. 

 Other physical ailments Tulsi can soothe are fever and colds, kidney stones, eye related problems, sore throat and oral problems. There are three types… Krishna smells of clove and sharp pepper. Rama is more cooling and relaxing. Vana tulsi is refreshing and calming. Balances Vata and Kapha, may slightly increase Pitta.

 Turmeric  – Turmeric is known as a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant whose effects on your body are indisputable. It has over 200 unique compounds, the most prominent and beneficial being Curcumin. Because Curcumin has a low bioavailiabity, it has to be paired with piperine and some type of lipid aka fat. The piperine increases the curcumin’s bioavailability by up to 2000 percent and the lipid allows it to be absorbed directly into your bloodstream through the lymphatic system.
